Please note
- Please wear warm clothing. We provide additional gear for extra protection, but it’s best to dress warmly.
- If you are not a hotel guest and do not need a pick-up service, please be at Star Arctic Hotel Reception 10-15 minutes before the activity starts.
- You can drive a snowmobile in Lapland if you are 18+ years old and you have a valid foreign driving license that covers standard cars or motorcycles (class A & B), but you must carry your physical, plastic driving license card with you during the tour. If your license is written in a non-Latin alphabet, you must carry a certified translation or an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your original license. The license must be shown upon request by Star Arctic Hotel representatives or Finnish officials.
- The route and exact duration may vary according to weather conditions and the number of participants. Marked snowmobile tracks are directly accessible from the hotel yard, where the snowmobile tours depart and finish.
- To be seated as a snowmobile passenger, one must be at least 140 cm in height and physically fit for it.
- Children and individuals under 140 cm in height must ride in a sleigh, safely pulled by our guide. Children in the sleigh must be able to communicate, and a parent must ride in the sleigh to supervise the children.
- If you or your partner are unable to drive the snowmobile due to injury or other reasons, please inform us in advance. A driver can be pre-arranged based on availability and will be charged for additional fee.
- Driving a snowmobile under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating substances is strictly prohibited. Star Arctic Hotel representatives may test drivers with an alcohol meter if deemed necessary.
- This experience is not suitable for pregnant people.
Terms & Conditions
- All weekly excursions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance before the starting time.
- All excursions are non-refundable and non-changeable inside 7 days before the starting time. We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if the booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event.
- Liability for damages: The driver of a snowmobile is responsible for any damages caused to the vehicle or other individuals. The self-liability amount for damages to the snowmobile is a maximum of €1500 per snowmobile and case.
- Star Arctic Activities reserves the right to make changes to the excursions without prior notice and the right to stop the excursions due to sudden change of weather conditions, by the dangerous behaviour of any participant or any other conditions cause by force majeure.
