Ice fishing has deep traditions throughout Finland and is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend time outdoors.
Relax on a reindeer skin and try your luck at fishing. Take it easy on a short snowmobile sleigh ride and soak in nature’s serenity while ice fishing. The pond is home to Arctic char and trout—both high-quality species.
A warm soup lunch will be served at our Wilderness Restaurant, and if you catch something, you may even get to cook your own fish. This experience offers an authentic introduction to the local lifestyle and is a favourite among many of our visitors.

Please note
- Minimum age of participant is 3 years, but all participants must be able to walk by themselves.
- Please inform us your allergies upon booking, thank you.
- If you are not a hotel guest and do not need a pick-up service, please be at Star Arctic Hotel Reception 10-15 minutes before the activity starts.
- Please wear warm clothing. We provide additional gear for extra protection, but it’s best to dress warmly.
Terms & Conditions
- All weekly excursions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance before the starting time.
- All excursions are non-refundable and non-changeable inside 7 days before the starting time.
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if the booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event.
- The exact duration may vary according to the weather and the number of participants.
- Please note that catching fish is not guaranteed during the ice fishing excursion.
- Star Arctic Activities reserves the right to make changes to the excursions without prior notice and the right to stop the excursions due to sudden change of weather conditions, by the dangerous behaviour of any participant or any other conditions cause by force majeure.
