Finished in autumn 2019, our brand-new Wilderness Center plays an important part in delivering unique experiences in the far north. The Wilderness Center offers a peaceful setting in a genuine wilderness atmosphere within a short driving distance from Saariselkä. Our aim is to show our guests the best parts of Lapland – the locations, activities and restaurant services.
Unforgettable Activities
The Wilderness Center serves as a base camp for the majority of our activities. Meet our furry friends – Siberian huskies and reindeer at the Wilderness Center or try out your luck with ice-fishing on our private lake. Local Cuisine
The Star Arctic Wilderness Restaurant serves delicious meals made of local ingredients, and the meals are included in our longer tours. The Wilderness Center Restaurant has 80 seats and serves as the venue for meals included in our activities. The Wilderness Center Restaurant has toilets and is licensed for also alcohol serving.

Getting there
- The Wilderness Center is located a 20-minute drive away from the hotel and less than 10 minutes from the Ivalo international airport.
- Activities booked from the hotel include transfers between the Star Arctic Hotel and our Wilderness Center. It is possible to arrive to the Wilderness Center by own bus.
- Address: Rovaniementie 1332. This address marks the crossing of a small road by the main road. Kindly contact us for more detailed driving instructions and exact coordinates.
